Donald Trump said on Monday that the US would repeat his first-term move and withdraw the US, the world’s second biggest emitter of planet-heating pollution, from the “unfair one-sided Paris climate accord rip off”.
Trump made the remarks to leave the agreement – the world’s main effort to mitigate the worst impacts of the climate crisis – while speaking to supporters at the Capital One Arena in Washington DC hours after being sworn in for a second term as president.
